Pain in the lower back is a common concern, affecting up to 30 to 40% of South Africans at some point in their lifetime.
The week of the 5 to 11 September is Back Awareness Week, set aside to educate and create awareness of the problems of back pain, common causes and risks, complications, management and prevention. Hillcrest Private Hospital will be hosting a free interactive talk by physiotherapist, Carel Wildenboom, on minimising the risks to your back and managing back pain.
