Pedestrian killed on N3

A pedestrian was killed this morning on the N3 Durban-bound between Richmond Road and the M7 off-ramp.

According to ER24 spokesman Derrick Banks, the pedestrian was a homeless man who was well known in the area, and always used to walk on freeways.

This morning he walked into the road and was hit by a VW Golf.  The driver of the car was uninjured.

The pedestrian died at the scene.
