Two-year-old Kaiden has lissencephaly, a rare brain condition meaning smooth brain. He requires large amounts of medical treatment and therapy in order to reach his full potential. Help raise funds and create awareness about his condition at the Hope 4 Kaiden Fun Raiser on 4 August.
Living with lissencephaly is an uphill battle and requires extensive medical treatment and therapy – all of which costs money. Taking into account occupational and speech therapy, MRIs and essential equipment, Kaiden’s costs are going to be over R200 000 for the first year and R99 000 per year after that until he reaches his full potential.
“We have discovered that there is very little support as well resources for parents in the same predicament,” says Kaiden’s mom Sharlene. “Our goal is to set up a NPO in order to help Kaiden with his medical cost and other parents in a similar situation.”
